Three people were sent to the hospital Monday afternoon after a bus struck a stationary train in Midland.
Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene of the crash at approximately 1:19 p.m. near West Highway 80 and South Loop 250.
The investigation into the accident revealed that the driver of a small TRAX bus had a medical episode, and the bus collided with the train. The driver was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries due to the episode and remained in critical condition Monday evening. Two passengers were on board and were transported for minor injuries. The train was unoccupied at the time of the accident.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing. Union Pacific was notified of the accident.
