The City of Midland will welcome public input on the use of funds intended to benefit low- and moderate-income people living in Midland at an upcoming meeting.
The public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on March 16 at the Southeast Senior Center located at 1803 E. Indiana Ave.
The City received $661,412 in Community Development Block Grant funds for the 2016-2017 program. The amount of this upcoming year's funds has not yet been determined, but is expected to be a similar amount. A minimum of 70 percent of these funds must be allocated to projects that benefit low- and moderate-income people.
Examples of activities eligible for CDBG funding include housing rehabilitation, sidewalk and street improvement, park improvements, code enforcement, lot clearance, economic development and public services.
