[ARCHIVED] MPD to recognize officers, civilians at 25th annual awards banquet

The Midland Police Department will hold its 25th annual awards banquet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 13 at Midland Country Club (6101 N. Highway 349). The banquet is an opportunity to recognize a select group of sworn and civilian personnel for the outstanding job they do for the department and the community.

Award winners are:


Field Operations Bureau -

Supervisor of the Year: Sgt. Ed Marker

Officer of the Year: Officer Reico Patrick

Rookie of the Year: Officer Callie Ives

MPD Civilian of the Year: Yesika Navarro


Investigative Services Bureau -

Detective of the Year: Detective Geo Mitchell

MPD Civilian of the Year: Mindy Earle

Explorer of the Year: Stephen Dietsch


Support Services Bureau -

Top Gun: Lt. Layton Fincher

Fitness Squad: Sgt. Doug Crisp, Jason Claire, D.J. Goswick, Austin Poe, Steven Standage

Fitness Award: Officer Bradly Kozan 

MPD Civilian Supervisor of the Year: Selena Soto



Chief’s Award Recipients: Lt. Alfredo Grimaldo, Sgt. Lorenzo Dominguez, Officer Kienan Goodnight


Medal of Service: Lt. BJ Land, Sgt. David Scardino, Detective Kay Therwanger, Officer Kenneth Callahan, Jessica Rodriguez


Citizens Appreciation Award: Arturo Monclova, Jakob Geiling, Stephanie Mims, Amber Guerrero


This year’s speaker will be retired City of Charlottesville, Virginia Police Chief Timothy J. Longo Sr.
