Midland residents will have their first chance to swim this pool season at Doug Russell Aquatic Center over Memorial Day Weekend.
Doug Russell Aquatic Center will open its doors for Memorial Day Weekend on May 27-29 and then re-open on Saturday, June 3 to resume normal summertime operations after the completion of the school year.
The newly-renovated Washington Aquatic Center will hold a grand opening for the public on Saturday, June 3 and continue its normal pool season schedule.
Doug Russell Aquatic Center, which is located at 900 Midland Drive, will be open during the regular 2017 pool season from noon to 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Washington Aquatic Center, which is located at 1601 E. Indiana Ave., will be open from noon to 7 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday, and from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Family nights will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday night at Washington Aquatic Center and Thursday night at Doug Russell Aquatic Center.
Reservations for private pool parties and pavilion rentals can be made now by calling 432-685-7356 or visiting the Parks and Recreation Division at 2701 W. Elizabeth Street. Registration for swim lessons is also available by calling 432-685-7355 or visiting the MLK Jr. Community Center located at 2300 Butternut Lane.
The cost of entry at City of Midland pools is $3 per person, with free admission for children under the age of 2. Punch passes are available at both pool, the Parks and Recreation Division at 2701 W. Elizabeth Street and the MLK Jr. Community Center at 2300 Butternut Lane for discounted rates.
