[ARCHIVED] Atmos Energy Freedom Run to take place July 1

Freedom Run 2016

Runners, joggers and walkers are invited to kick off Independence Day festivities in Midland this year at the Atmos Energy 5K/10K Freedom Run on Saturday, July 1. 


Registration is now open for the chip-timed race, which will start at 8:30 a.m. from the First Baptist Church north parking lot located at 2104 W. Louisiana Avenue. Pre-race registration is available online at www.midlandtexas.gov/freedomrun starting at $25 per person and day-of registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 1. 


Participants are invited to wear patriotic gear to the event to turn Midland’s streets red, white and blue during the race. All registrants will be eligible for the chance to win a GoPro camera. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Midland Municipal Employees Scholarship Fund, a non-profit organization that provides college scholarships annually to dependents of City of Midland employees.
