[ARCHIVED] One woman deceased after car crashes into house

UPDATE 7/11: On Monday, July 10, Miguel Ruiz was additionally charged with two counts of injury to the elderly due to two individuals who were the residence at the time of Ruiz's crash suffering minor injuries.

Original Post on 7/6: A Granbury woman was declared deceased after a vehicle crashed into a home on LaSalle Circle late Wednesday evening.

Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to the accident at approximately 10:18 p.m. Wednesday in the 4500 block of LaSalle Circle. The investigation into the accident revealed that Midland resident Miguel Ruiz, 25, was traveling southbound on Mark Lane in a Ford Mustang and failed to maintain a single lane of travel. Ruiz left the roadway where he struck a tree, Granbury resident Belinda Hogan, 56, and a residence.

Hogan was pronounced deceased at the scene. Ruiz was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was subsequently arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter. The next of kin have been notified and the investigation into the accident continues.
