[ARCHIVED] Website Debuts New Look

The City of Midland’s website is getting a new look for the new year.

Beginning Friday, www.midlandtexas.gov will debut a fresh design and layout. The new design is easier to navigate and find the most-frequently used pages, according to Elana Ladd, Public Information Officer. It also features a more contemporary feel which reflects the energy of Midland. All services previously available through the website such as bill-pay or reporting a concern will be maintained.

Ladd shared that additional changes for the website are planned. Later this year, the City intends to make more services available on-line. Currently, citizens must make in-person applications for things such as building permits or pool rentals. In the coming months, residents will be able to accomplish these tasks online. “We are taking steps to make interacting with City Departments more user-friendly and conducive to the way people live. You can buy your groceries and shoes online; why not apply for a permit online as well,” Ladd added.

Late last year, the City also participated in the launch of the Passport2Midland app in conjunction with the Midland Chamber of Commerce. The app allows residents to pay bills, report a stray animal, or request other City services directly from their phone or mobile device. Passport2Midland is available for free download in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
