Utility work is planned to begin Monday, February 12 for Cuthbert Avenue between Garfield Street and “A” Street. The project is expected to last two to three months and will be followed by re-pavement of the roadway.
Purpose and Overview
The purpose of the project is to replace water mains beneath the street and install storm drains. In order to accomplish this, the City’s contractor, Boler, will begin by cutting the pavement. Next, trenches beneath the pavement will be dug to allow access to the water lines. Crews will work to replace and install pipe and then move operations along the length of the project until complete. As the zone of active construction moves, Boler will be placing door-hangers with contact information on residences.
Access to Residences
Access to homes will be maintained at all times. If work is occurring directly in front of a driveway, a steel plate can be temporarily placed over the utility trench to allow access. Simply alert nearby personnel that such an accommodation is needed.
Utility Interruptions
Every effort will be made to keep utility service interruptions to a minimum, and residents will be notified before anticipated utility service interruptions. Most service interruptions are planned to occur between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and will never last through the evening.
