[ARCHIVED] Calling All Recruits: MFD Hiring

The Midland Fire Department (MFD) is now hiring for eleven open Fire Recruit positions.

In order to be considered, applicants must meet certain criteria:

  • 19 – 35 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license

Men and women who meet these requirements are encouraged to apply online at www.midlandtexas.gov/jobs. Upon application, potential recruits will receive additional information detailing physical and written exam requirements. Applicants who possess Firefighter, EMT or Paramedic credentials are also encouraged to apply.

Candidates who pass the exam and interview process will be eligible to become Fire Department Recruits. Recruits are offered a full-time, paid job and enrollment in Recruit School and EMT School. All instruction and work assignments will be based in Midland.

“This program grew out of a desire to look within our own city for Recruits,” shared Training Chief Kevin Douthit. “There is an abundance of talent in Midland; we are providing the opportunity for those with the talent and willingness to serve, to obtain training,” he added.
