The City of Midland is pleased to announce the 2018/2019 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program application cycle. Download the schedule of the significant dates for the application process including related activity. Prospective applicants must call our office to obtain an application. Only applications from agencies that have been cleared as eligible applicants by this office will be accepted. If you need assistance preparing the application, call us to arrange training. The last day for training will be on March 30, 2018.
CDBG funds are to be used primarily on programs and projects that benefit low and moderate income persons. The City will receive approximately $714,071 for the 2018/19 CDBG program. The allocation for 2018/2019 has not yet been determined. Many types of public service programs are eligible for CDBG funding. However, the City may only allocate 15% of the total grant to public services. Other eligible activities include infrastructure improvements, public facilities, housing programs, economic development, and program administration.
