[ARCHIVED] Fishing Fun Planned at CJ Kelly Park

A morning of fishing and fun is planned for Saturday, April 14 at CJ Kelly Park, 5500 League Drive.

From 8:00 AM – noon, Midland’s Parks and Recreation Division will host a fishing competition for children up to age 12. Prizes will be awarded for age 6 and under, 7-8 years old, 9-10 years old, and 11-12 years old. The pond is stocked with catfish and anglers are welcome to keep fish which meet state law pertaining to size and quantity.

No registration is required; just bring your fishing pole and tackle. A limited number of fishing poles will be available for use at the event. During this time, adults are also welcome to fish and will not be required to have a fishing license.

This event is possible with the support of Texas Parks and Wildlife. State Game Wardens will be present during the event to answer questions. For more information, contact Midland Parks and Recreation at (432) 685-7379.
