The City of Midland is changing the face of government access TV programming. City TV channel 6 Grande and channel 2 Suddenlink is getting a face-lift in 2011.
Over the past five years the channel has slowly changed from a static PowerPoint presentation into full video productions. Residents have been able to watch the State of the City Address each year, plus various other videos about city services.
In 2009 CityTV began airing the award winning Texas Parks and Wildlife series. A production made available to cities throughout the state of Texas. Each week, Texas Parks and Wildlife travels to several different destinations around the state. The stories cover a wide range of topics, from in-depth issues about conservation and the environment, to fun family activities in the outdoors.
Now the City of Midland will offer residents even more quality programming with the onset of two new video programs. The first, City Brief is a quarterly news magazine program, which will feature City Council Hot Topics plus important happenings within the City.
Monthly Shorts, is a lighthearted short program aimed to inform residents about events happening in Midland. This program is updated on a monthly basis by City staff.
CityTV videos can be viewed online via YouTube at www.YouTube.com/CityofMidland
Midland residents can also tune into CityTV Grande channel 6 and Suddenlink channel 2 anytime day or night.
