Oil & Gas Enforcement
The mission of Oil & Gas Services is to encourage the orderly production of Midland’s mineral resources while enforcing reasonable and uniform regulations over oil and gas operations and development, protect the health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of Midland and quality of the environment, and to abate or prevent potential public nuisances and to minimize the potential adverse impact to surface and mineral owners.
To meet these mission requirements, Oil & Gas Services has four primary areas of responsibility.
- Review Well Drilling Applications for completeness.
- Coordinate the Applications review by the public and City Council.
- Inspect Well Drilling to verify compliance with Permit Requirements.
- Resolve any violation issues that result from the Inspection process.
