To report missing signs, traffic signal malfunctions, sight triangle or visibility obstructions, call 685-7280 during regular working hours or 685-7110 for after hours' emergency response.  To report problems with street lights, call TXU at 1-888-313-4747, or if along Loop 250 call City of Midland Traffic at 685-7280.

Traffic Engineering is responsible for the management of all Traffic Engineering functions within the City of Midland.  This responsibility includes conducting studies of vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow and patterns, installation and maintenance of all traffic control devices including pavement markings, traffic signage, traffic signals, and school zone flashing equipment, enforcement of Right of Way and visibility sight triangle obstructions, traffic accident analysis which includes preparing an Annual Accident Report and submittal of ordinances to the City Council for the installation of traffic control devices.  This Division approves and authorizes the installation of all traffic control devices within the City.   This Division also approves and authorizes the installation of street lights within the City and maintains the operation of street lighting on Loop 250.

The Traffic Engineering Division reviews all residential and commercial development in regard to traffic circulation and approval of driveways for vehicular ingress and egress and conducts traffic impact analysis studies.
