FIELD OPERATIONS BUREAU

Deputy Chief Jeff Darr commands the Field Operations Bureau. The Bureau consists of three Patrol shifts, the Directed Patrol Team, the K-9 unit, Special Operations, SWAT and the Airport Division.

Deputy Chief Darr has been with the Midland Police Department for 27 years.  He has worked as a Patrol Officer, Detective, SWAT Officer, Sergeant, and Lieutenant.  He promoted to Deputy Chief in January 2009.  Deputy Chief Darr is a graduate of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication.  In 2004 Deputy Chief Darr received his Masters Degree (MA) in Public Administration from Sul Ross State University.  He also is a graduate of the 200th session of the FBI National Academy and the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP).
