Property and Evidence

The function of the Property and Evidence Section is to maintain all items of an evidentiary nature, lost/found, safekeeping, recovered property, contraband or any other agency held property until the cases have been adjudicated and/or the statue of limitations have expired in accordance with Texas Criminal Code.

The Property and Evidence Section is staffed by two Property Techs and one Supervisor who are responsible for maintaining approximately 42,000 pieces of evidence on an annual basis.  All personnel are Nationally Certified Evidence Techs.   Any victim wanting information about their property must first have a case number, then call.  Our goal is to return all the property to the rightful owners.

Operating hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.   An appointment must be made prior to your arrival.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are closed to the public.
