INTRODUCING THE CITY OF MIDLAND VENDOR SELF SERVICE SYSTEM (VSS)
Effective Wednesday, 9/1/10, the City of Midland Purchasing Division will begin using the Vendor Self Service (VSS) system to register and maintain vendor accounts. All vendors who wish to conduct business with the City will be required to update and maintain all information used for the notification and issuance of payment in the VSS system. Beginning 10/1/2010, vendors who want to be notified of published solicitations will be required to access the VSS web site to view newly released solicitations. Vendors who have not registered by October 1, 2010 WILL NOT be sent notifications of published solicitations. Please visit http://vss.midlandtexas.gov to register and update your information. You may email the Purchasing office at purchasing@midlandtexas.gov or call 432-685-7234 for assistance with completing this process. If you do not have access to a computer, you may visit our office at City Hall, 300 N. Loraine, Suite 220 and one will be provided for your use.

*Be sure to assemble ALL of the information below prior to registration:

Legal Business Name
W-9 Information: Organization Type and Classification (Company, Individual, etc.)
Taxpayer ID Number, Legal Business Address, City, State, Zip Code
Taxpayer ID Number Type: EIN or SSN
Information for each Company Location (Company Name, Address, City, State, Zip Code, Phone Number, Contact Information for each Location address). The first location entered will be considered the Headquarters Location
Contact Information (Contact Name, Address, Email, Phone, and Fax) for each Address Type listed below:

Account Administrator (person responsible for your VSS on-line account)
Ordering
Payment

Business Type – Demolition, Lot Mower, Dealer, Professional Service, Jobber, etc. Choose all that apply to your company.
Commodities – Commodity Code Descriptions of products and services your company provides. Choose all that apply to your company.
EFT Payment Information, *Optional* (Bank Routing Number – ABA, type of bank account, Bank Account Number) If you do not have this information available, it can be added at a later time.

*Note: In order for your VSS Registration to be effective, a W-9 form must be received by the City of Midland to complete your registration. Any Bid/Solicitation Responses submitted will NOT be accepted until your W-9 has been received. After we have received your completed W-9 form, you will be sent an email notification to welcome you as a Certified VSS Vendor. Please email your completed and signed W-9 to purchasing@midlandtexas.gov or fax to the City of Midland Purchasing Division at 432-685-0523.
