The Sanitation Department offers a wide variety of services and programs for the removal and disposal of waste and recyclables for the City of Midland. The department strives to make our community the cleanest and safety community in the state of Texas, while providing quality services and environmental programs that are safe, efficient and cost effective.

The Division currently serves more than 28,000 residential and 2,000 commercial accounts generating an annual revenue of approximately $4,800,000. We are in direct competition with private haulers on the commercial accounts. In the past few years, the Division has replaced and rebuilt hundreds of containers and has updated our fleet of collection vehicles. Learn More... |

The Landfill Division operates within the Sanitation enterprise fund, along with the Solid Waste Management Division. The current operating costs equate to $28.25 per ton, which includes a $1.25 per ton State permit fee. Learn More... |

The City of Midland and Keep Midland Beautiful have partnered to help raise awareness about what can be recycled. Look for one of the 353 large recycle containers, all painted to reflect the “Recycle Red, White, and Blue – It’s the Right Thing to Do” campaign. Learn More... |
