Water and Wastewater Operations Division

History and Long Term Plans
(2006 - 2015)

HISTORY
This Division was created beginning with the 2006 budget, as the administration arm for the Water Production, Water Purification Plant, Water Pollution Control Plant and Effluent Farms divisions.  We replaced three superintendents with one, and consolidated our laboratories for the two plants within this Division.  We also moved our electrical and electronics personnel to this Division as they work across the Utilities Department.

PRESENT
The Division has evaluated equipment needs and repairs across the Utilities Department and has begun an intense repair/replace program to bring all areas into optimum operation.

With the booming oil field economy, it has been a challenge to hire and retain qualified people across the Utilities Department.

FUTURE
This Division, along with Water and Wastewater Maintenance and Solid Waste Management divisions, will be relocating to a new building planned for spring 2007 construction.  The building will be built near the City's operations yard and service center.

The Division will continue creating asset management databases for the divisions included in this management group.
