Art in the Park

The Arts Assembly of  Midland highlights four new regional artists’ sculptures in this year’s Art in the Park. Midland residents may enjoy the newly installed outdoor artworks at Windlands Park. These selected sculptures all encourage reflection on contemporary ideas and concerns in relationship to the landscape.  A sculpture dedication will be held on Thursday, May 1st at 6:00 p.m. at Windlands Park, 1001 W. What's Happening in Midland

State of the City
On Wednesday, March 12, Mayor Wes Perry presented the 2008 State of the City Address. The event was an opportunity for residents to learn more about the City and the future direction of the City Council.  Topics included the State of the Economy, Economic Development, Housing Strategies, Transportation, Quality of Life, Quality Water, Public Safety, and Downtown Development.

The City of Midland and Keep Midland Beautiful have partnered to help raise awareness about what can be recycled.  Look for one of the 353 large recycle containers, all painted to reflect the “Recycle Red, White, and Blue – It’s the Right Thing to Do” campaign.

Fiscal Year 2007 - 2008 Maintenance and Operations Tax Rate
THE CITY OF MIDLAND ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE.

THE TAX RATE WILL LOWER TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $46.90.
