PRELIMINARY AUTOPSY REPORTS
Midland Police have received information regarding two homicide deaths from preliminary autopsy reports.
According to the report, 26-year-old Frank Ramirez (6-30-79) died of multiple stab wounds, four, to the back. 19-year-old Jorge (George) Brito (7-31-86) died from a single stab wound to the upper left shoulder that traveled downward approximately 13” severing arteries and puncturing a lung.
Ramirez’s deadly wounds are believed to be caused by a knife. Brito’s deadly wound is the result of a handle of a golf club (the shaft of the club with the face severed off) used as a weapon.
No arrests have been made. Police continue to investigate the New Year’s incident. Witnesses are being interviewed and re-interviewed as detectives attempt to determine what exactly took place.
Police were called to 3407 Thomas just before 2:30 a.m. on January 1, 2006. A domestic verbal argument between two people escalated into a fight involving several people. Five people received stab wounds, including the two deceased. The other three men were treated and released.
Police did recover two knives, one golf club shaft, and a broken liquor bottle all believed to be used during the fight.
There were approximately one dozen witnesses to the incident.
