AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON

Midland Police were called to 4212 Andrews Highway, Midland Memorial Hospital West Campus, at approximately 10:15 p.m. on February 15, 2006, in reference to a gun shot victim who arrived at the emergency room by private vehicle.

Witnesses told police that four people, two males and two females, were in the vehicle when a male subject approached the car near the intersection of Burchill and Versailles and fired a shot.  The bullet entered the right rear vent window, striking the victim in his upper right shoulder.  According to the witnesses, they drove immediately to the West Campus Emergency Room.  Emergency personnel transported him to the main hospital where he underwent surgery.

The victim is a 15-year-old male.  He is listed in stable condition.

Detectives are continuing the investigation.
