AIRLINE APPRECIATION RECEPTION
More people are flying out of Midland International Airport. In fact, enplanement numbers are taking off.
On Friday, March 3, 2006, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Midland International will thank the airlines, Southwest, American Eagle, and Continental, with a reception. The lunch is a celebration of 24 consecutive months of positive enplanements (the number of people boarding an aircraft at Midland International). The Media is encouraged to attend.
During the past 24 months, enplanements have risen nearly 8%. Midland International is still not at pre-9/11 numbers but definitely on the upside. At the end of 2001 (the year of 9/11) Midland International had 440,014 enplanements.
| 2002... |
406,406 enplanements |
| 2003... |
394,469 enplanements |
| 2004... |
414,522 enplanements |
| 2005... |
446,937 enplanements |
The 2005 number is still slightly below pre-9/11 numbers when you compare month to month. The last quarter of enplanements in 2001 was extremely low.
The event is not open to the public, however the media is invited to attend and have lunch. The reception will be held on the third floor of the airport.
