RUNAWAY

Midland Police need your help in locating a runaway teenager.  16-year-old Ashley Barrientos of Midland left her grandparents home, 505 S. Jackson, on the night of March 7, 2006.  She called her family on March 9, 2006, and was seen by a friend that same day.  Ashley has not been heard from since.

This case is unique in that runaways usually return home after 4-5 days.  Police need any information from anyone who has seen or talked to Ashley during the past month.

Ashley is 5’3” tall and weighs 110 pounds.  She has brown hair and brown eyes.  ***A picture of Ashley is available through email.  Just call Tina at 685.7593.***

Police want to warn the public that harboring, including transporting, a runaway is a Class A Misdemeanor.

In January 2006 Midland had 25 reported runaways, 23 in February, and 39 in March.  Anytime a person under the age of 18 leaves their parent’s or guardian’s home, for a substantial amount of time, with out permission, they could be considered a runaway.
