The City of Midland is proud to announce the grand opening of Midland’s Off-Leash Dog Park, Saturday, April 22, 2006, 12:00 Noon, at Hogan Park on Sibley Circle.  This is Midland’s first off-leash dog park and will offer an ideal location for dogs and their owners to exercise and socialize.

The park consists of two fenced areas - 3.5 acres for dogs over 40 pounds and 1.5 acres for dogs less than 40 pounds.  There are water stations for dogs and their owners, as well as, waste receptacles placed in each area. Materials for the park cost $35,500 with City of Midland staff providing the labor.

“Friends of the Dog Park” have also been actively selling brick pavers and accepting donations toward the purchase of pet exercise equipment, benches, shade structures, and other amenities.  Approximately $6,000 has been raised through their efforts.

Events offered at the April 22nd grand opening are micro chipping, rabies vaccinations, and photos taken of your dog.
