ONLINE AUCTION

The City of Midland will participate in an online auction.  Bidding is now underway and will close on May 10, 2006.

Interested parties should visit www.renebates.com

Twenty-eight items are up for auction.  They include two automobiles, one boom truck, three cab and chassis trucks, two dump trucks, one fire truck, 13 pick ups, one pothole patcher truck, one rescuer utility body, one seized van, and three tires and wheels.

RETIREMENT/PROMOTION

The Midland Fire Department will say good-bye to one member while promoting another employee to higher ranks.  A retirement reception will be held on Friday, May 5, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. and a promotion ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Fire Station.

Ed Martinez has worked for the MFD for nearly five years as a firefighter. 

Robert Worsham will be promoted to Fire Driver.  Worsham has worked as a firefighter for 10 years. 

The media is encouraged to attend and help make this a special day for the men and their families.
