JULY SALES TAX REVENUES

The City of Midland has collected this month's revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.  The total amount of revenue received was $1,547,246. 

This month's figure reflects a 32.83% increase or a $382,437 increase from July 2005.

The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2005-2006 is up 20.67% or an $2,677,753 increase from last year's totals at this time.  Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $15,630,245.

Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; July collection is based on May sales.

MIDLAND POLICE CONDUCT ROUNDUP

Midland Police hit the streets early this morning, July 13, 2006, knocking on doors and serving arrest warrants.  More than a dozen people are behind bars and charged with a variety of property crimes including Theft, Burglary of a Building, Forgery, Credit Card Abuse, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, and Criminal Mischief. 

The arrests are the result of multiple investigations over the course of three months.  The following is a list of those arrested today:
