HOUSING ASSISTANCE/REHAB PROGRAMS

City of Midland housing programs, carried out by the Community Development Office, are undergoing major changes.

The Minor Repair Program for low-income homeowners has exhausted its available funds and was not funded for the coming year.

The Major Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program for homeowners is now only accepting potential applicants from the 2006 Target Area that surrounds the San Juan Catholic Church.

The First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program has funds available only until September 30, 2006.  The program provides down payment and closing cost assistance that can be used by low-income persons towards the purchase of a pre-owned or a new home in the city.

For further information or referrals on the three programs, please contact the Community Development Office at 685.7472 or 685.7408.
