CITY DEBUTS NEW VIDEO SCREEN AT GRANDE STADIUM

If you are heading to a football game at Grande Communications Stadium this weekend, you won’t help but notice the new improved video board and scoreboard.  Both were recently installed and will improve the overall sporting experience for fans.

The old 14’ x 19’ LED Board has been replaced with a 15’ x 27’ Video Board.  The video board will be able to display live footage, video, and instant replay.  The system includes five stationary cameras and one wireless roaming camera.

The scoreboard is being replaced with an upgraded wireless scoreboard for better operation capabilities.

Tonight marks the beginning of Midland Football Madness with games planned for Thursday night, Friday night, and all day Saturday.

BURGLARY ASSAULT SUSPECT

Midland Police need the help of the public in identifying and arresting a man accused of burglarizing an apartment then assaulting a woman with a knife.

The incident happened on August 24, 2006, at approximately 8:45 a.m.  A 43-year-old woman returned to her apartment at 2601 N. A Street.  The suspect was inside her apartment in an attempted burglary.  The suspect stabbed her in the stomach and fled on foot.  She was taken to the Midland Memorial Hospital and treated for her injury.

Police now have a composite of the suspect in the case.  He is described as a black male, possibly in his 20’s, tall and thin, and has shoulder length braids with beads.  He wore black sports gloves at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect should contact the Midland Police Department or call Crimestoppers at 694.TIPS or 1.800.7LOCKUP.
