SEMINAR HELPS INFORM CITIZENS ABOUT DRUGS

The Midland Crime Prevention Commission will hold a seminar aimed at informing citizens about illegal drugs in our community.  The event will take place on Monday, October 23, 2006, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, 2300 Butternut Lane.

Members of the Midland Police Department and the Midland Sheriff’s Office will speak about illegal drugs.  They will also answer questions anyone might have.

The seminar is FREE to the public.  Everyone is encouraged to attend.

CITY WORKS TO FIX SIGNAL LIGHT

City of Midland crews are working to replace a traffic signal pole damaged during a recent traffic accident.  Motorists should use caution at the intersection of Lamesa Road and Wadley all this week as the remaining signals are in a flashing mode.   The intersection is temporarily a four-way stop.

The pole was knocked off its concrete foundation.  A new foundation needed to be poured to install a new pole.  The foundation must set for one week before the pole can go up.

Thank you for your patience during this transition.  The intersection should be fully operational by October 28, 2006.
