GET YOUR HOUSE ON CITY’S WEBSITE
The City of Midland is celebrating the holiday season and wants residents to join in on the fun.
So get out your digital camera and help decorate the City of Midland webpage with a picture of your home.
Residents are asked to email pictures of their homes all decorated with lights and other ornaments. The address to send pictures is:
Christmas@midlandtexas.gov
The City of Midland website address is:
www.midlandtexas.gov
When emailing a picture, please include your home address. This will allow citizens to view the pictures and then choose which ones to possibly go view in person. Originality is encouraged but good taste is required.
The pictures will provide an opportunity to showcase Midland’s holiday spirit while inviting people to visit the City’s website. Everyone can help spread the good cheer by inviting family and friends, even those living out of the area, to view your decorated house on the City’s homepage.
Between now and Christmas, the City’s website homepage will offer tips to help keep citizens, their families, and homes and cars, safe. The information will be placed on the homepage along with the pictures of decorated Midland houses.
MOBILE SUBSTATION POLICIES RETAIL AREAS
The Midland Police Department’s Mobile Substation will police retail areas of the City during the holiday season. The substation officers hope their presence will help deter crime.
Officers and volunteers will man the substation. Officers will be out on foot and will also be on bicycle patrol in the parking lots.
This is a busy time of year for major retail areas of the City. Having the officers present will help patrol officers with the calls for service. The officers will be on the look out for shoplifters, auto burglars, purse and wallet snatchers, and other criminal activity. They are also available for any public assistance that may be needed.
Included is a copy of the substation schedule for the holiday season. The schedule is always subject to change.
The public is invited to stop by and tour the substation.
For more than six years, M.P.D. has utilized the substation in retail areas during the holiday season.
