FLU SHOT CLINIC
It’s not too late to receive your flu shot.  The City of Midland has received its supply of the flu vaccination.  Midland residents are encouraged to attend a flu clinic to be held on two separate days.

Flu season typically runs from November thru March.  The cost of the flu vaccine is $ 15.00; however, a Medicare card will be accepted in lieu of payment.

MFD TO HOST ANNUAL CONFERENCE
The Midland Fire Department will host a four-day conference to help educate fire fighters on the latest techniques and new laws.

The 27th Annual West Texas Fire Service Conference will be held on December 5-8, 2006, at the Clarion Choice Hotel, 4300 W. Wall, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. everyday with the conference wrapping up at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. 

Classes will include insurance fraud, juvenile interrogation and procedures, State Fire Marshal rule changes for alarm and sprinkler inspections, wild land fire investigation, health and wellness relating to the fire service, handwriting analysis, and public fire education.

The annual conference is held in Midland every other year trading off with Odessa.  Twenty to thirty participants are expected to attend from Midland, Odessa, Crane, Colorado City, Ingram, Kerrville, and other surrounding cities.
