NO GARBAGE PICK UP
The City of Midland will not run residential and business garbage pick up on Wednesday, January 17, 2007.  Service will resume on Thursday with staff working extra time in an effort to serve every customer. 

ATTEMPTED CHILD ABDUCTION
Midland Police are searching for a suspect or suspects who have attempted to lure two different young girls into their vehicle.

On January 10, 2007, at approximately 4:00 or 4:30 p.m., a five-year-old girl was playing in her front yard in the 4400 block of Seminole when the suspect drove up to the residence, opened the door, and yelled to the child to get in the truck.  When the girl yelled, the truck speed off.

On January 10, 2007, a similar description of a truck was reported parked at Henderson Park. 

On January 11, 2007, the suspect truck was parked at Henderson Park, this time possibly occupied by two men, and the suspects motioned for a girl to come to the vehicle.  When she did not, they followed her to her residence in the 4500 block of Erie.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned Hispanic or Black male, a black or brown goatee, and there could possibly be two men working together.

The suspect vehicle is a small white pickup with amber lights on the top and black bedrails.  The bed of the truck contained orange cones.  The truck could have a blue decal on the door with white lettering.
