TURN ON THE LIGHTS
City of Midland Parks & Recreation Division Staff will be installing a 4-pole lighting system at the William-Sam Memorial Skate Park located at Beal Park, 5200 W. Wall.  The installation will take place on Wednesday morning, February 7, 2007.

In May of 2005, the Midland Skaters Group was granted approval by the Midland City Council to raise funds for a 4-pole lighting system at the skate park.  In August 2006, a check, in the amount of $8,023, was presented to the city by the group representing their fundraising efforts.  The City of Midland appropriated an additional $10,000 toward the purchase of the lighting materials and is providing in-house labor for the electrical work and installation of the lighting system.

Lighting the William-Sam Memorial Skate Park will provide a safe environment for skaters during the park’s public use hours of 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.
