SEPTIC SYSTEMS
The citizens of Midland County are encouraged to contact the City of Midland Health Department BEFORE construction of any septic system.

The Health Department permits every installation of septic systems.  Residents are encouraged to think about the logistics of installation, including the location of the septic system in relation to any existing water well, and use the Health Department as a resource.

Proper installation and maintenance of a septic system will maximize the system’s life, prevent failures that can be unsightly and foul smelling, and reduce the risk of contaminating a water well.

To contact the Midland Health Department for an appointment with an inspector, call 681.7613.

WARRANT ROUNDUP
The City of Midland Municipal Court is participating in a statewide roundup of persons with outstanding municipal warrants.

Defendants with outstanding warrants of arrest for traffic, parking, city ordinance, or state law violations are being targeted by multi-jurisdictions.  The participating agencies, over 150 in Texas, are concentrating their efforts to clear these outstanding warrants.

Approximately 2,947 warrant reminder letters were mailed to defendants with outstanding warrants in the City of Midland, notifying them of the upcoming roundup.  Approximately 1,300 of the letters were returned to Municipal Court with non-current addresses.  428 warrants have been cleared as a result of persons coming to Municipal Court who received a letter.  Warrant Officers, along with the assistance of the MPD, began rounding up defendants this morning, Monday, March 5, 2007.  As of 12:00 p.m., they have arrested five (5) wanted persons.

Affected persons are urged to contact the appropriate jurisdiction to dispose of their cases voluntarily and avoid arrest during the actual roundup.
