AGGRAVATED ROBBERY
Midland Police were called to the scene of an Aggravated Robbery at 202 N. Midkiff just after 11:00 p.m. on March 14, 2007.
Three employees of the Church’s Chicken were cleaning up after the store closed. Two of the employees were headed out the back door to take out trash when they were approached by a man in a ski mask who pointed a rifle at them making them go back inside. He struck one of the employees with the butt of the rifle and told them to get on the ground. The suspect then entered the office where the manager was and struck him in the head with the weapon. The man took cash from the desk and walked out the back door of the store.
The suspect was identified as an employee, 18-year-old Braddrick Lewis (4-17-88). He was arrested about an hour later arriving at his residence in the 4700 block of Cherokee. A woman, suspected of driving, 17-year-old Linda Martinez (5-2-89) was also arrested. She is a former employee of Church’s. Detectives are investigating the possibility of a third suspect.
Police recovered some of the stolen money, two ski masks, and the rifle.
The investigation continues.
