PERSONNEL UPDATE
The Midland City Council and City staff have concluded a three day planning session.

The City Council met in Executive Session during the planning meeting to discuss and evaluate Council Appointees, including City Manager Rick Menchaca. 

No action has been taken regarding Menchaca’s status as City Manager.  When a decision is made regarding the status of Menchaca, the public will be advised. 


WOMEN’S HEALTH WEEK
The Midland Health Department will participate in National Women’s Health Week, May 17 & 18, 2007, in an effort to spread the word about Women and their risk of Heart Disease.

To raise awareness among local women that heart disease is their # 1 health threat, the Midland Health Department will host a two day “Women’s Heart Health Screening.”

The event will include a heart risk assessment, (blood pressure, body mass index, and cholesterol testing), educational materials.

This event is Free and is open to all local women age 20 and over. Please call at 681-7613 for an appointment to be scheduled on May 17 between 8:30 a.m. -12:00 a.m.  Or on May 18 between 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (a limited number of appointments will be available).
