EMPLOYEES BATTLE IT OUT ON FIELD

The tournament is part of the month long “Pacesetter” efforts by city employees. They are helping to lead the way for the entire community. Their goal is to raise $50,000.
Also taking place today is a BBQ lunch at the Midland Police Department. Employees can pledge to donate $2.00 per pay period ($48.00) and eat free or donate $6.00 per plate.
“COOKIES & CREAM”
Looking for a way to cool off in the summer heat? The City of Midland will host a FREE event, open to the public, with plenty of ice cream for everyone.
The Scarborough/Linebery House, 802 S. Main, will be the site of the event on Thursday, August 23, 2007, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The festivity is part of a year long list of activities celebrating “100 Years of Heritage.” Midland’s second oldest house turns 100 years old this year (1907-2007).
The public is invited to enjoy refreshing ice cream provided free of charge by the Blue Bell Ice Cream Company. This is a unique opportunity to partner in celebrating the 100th birthday for the Scarborough Linebery House and Blue Bell Ice Cream.
Citizens of Midland and the entire west Texas area are invited to celebrate with the City of Midland in recognizing this historic treasure.
