POLICE/NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING
Officers of the Midland Police Department will meet with the residents of the Grassland Estates area.  The neighborhood meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 28, 2007, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the clubhouse located at the corner of Hereford & Crowley.

The meeting is a joint effort of the Midland Police Department, the Grassland Homeowner’s Association, and MPD Volunteers.  They will discuss recent offenses in the area, crime trends, useful information from suspects arrested, how a residence is targeted and why, how to prevent becoming a victim, programs offered by MPD, and the efforts of Citizens on Patrol volunteers in the residential area. There will also be an opportunity for residents to ask questions.

The meeting is first in a series of neighborhood meetings between officers and residents.  The goal is to make citizens aware of what is occurring in their own neighborhoods and how by getting involved, they can play a role in the fighting crime in their own backyards
