BICYCLE FATALITY
Midland Police were called to the scene of a traffic fatality at approximately 8:13 a.m. on August 29, 2007, near the intersection of Interstate 20 and Midkiff Road.

Witnesses reported seeing 47-year-old Bobby Jack Baker of Midland riding a bicycle northbound on the south service road just east of the Interstate.  He rode through the grassy median to the eastbound lane of traffic on the Interstate.  At that time, he rode under an 18-wheeler.

Baker was pronounced dead at the scene.  The truck driver stopped.  He does not face any citations or charges.

The investigation continues.
