MISSING PERSON
Midland Police continue to search for a Midland man who has not been heard from since six weeks ago.
Police received a report for a missing person on August 28th. 38-year-old Timothy Dane McCabe left Monday morning, August 27, 2007, in route to his job in Hobbs, New Mexico. On Tuesday, his boss called his fiancé in Midland to ask if he was coming to work. She informed the boss he had left for work on Monday. She then contacted police to make a missing person report.
McCabe is described as a white male, 6’2”, and weighing 175 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He was driving a 1997 Maroon GMC extended cab pickup. McCabe was last seen wearing jeans, a dark colored t-shirt, light brown boots, and a ball cap. He also has a number of tattoos including a tiger, a lion, a shamrock, barbed wire, and a spider web.
McCabe was a mechanic with Duke Energy in Hobbs. He lived in Midland with his fiancé and drives home on the weekends.

MISSING MAN’S BODY FOUND
The body of a Midland man missing for more than six weeks was discovered last night, October 12, 2007, in Andrews County.
At approximately 6:00 p.m., 38-year-old Timothy Dane McCabe was found in his vehicle, a 1997 Maroon GMC extended cab pickup, approximately 14 miles south southeast of Andrews off of FM 1788. A rancher discovered the vehicle and body approximately one-quarter mile east of 1788. The vehicle was locked and McCabe was still wearing the seatbelt.
For unknown reasons, it is apparent that the vehicle left the roadway, driving through a fence, and coming to a stop among several mesquite bushes.
No foul play is suspected. The body is being sent to Lubbock for an autopsy.
