MPD RELEASES COMPOSITE
Midland Police continue to look for a suspect in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Monday.  Detectives are hoping the public can help identify the suspect.

A forensic sketch artist today, October 17, 2007, developed a composite.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium to dark complexion, medium build, and wearing a bandana over the top of his head.  One defining feature is the suspect’s high cheek bones.

At approximately 4:00 a.m. on October 15, 2007, police responded to a call of a stabbing at 1701 N. Fairgrounds Road, Sterling Spring Villa Apartments.  When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old female who had been stabbed in the back eight times.  Detectives have learned that an unknown male subject used force to enter the apartment through a patio door where he attempted to sexually assault the victim.  She was then stabbed by the man with a knife.  The man fled on foot from the apartment.  The victim’s three children, ranging in age from 2 to 6, went to a neighbor’s apartment and sought help.  The victim exited the apartment, collapsing outside the doorway.

The victim is in stable condition at Midland Memorial Hospital.

It is unknown if anything was taken from the apartment.  The suspect will face the charge of Burglary with the Intent to Commit another Felony.

Anyone with information about the suspect should contact Midland Police at 685.7108 or Crimestoppers at 694.TIPS.
