RETIREMENT
The Midland Police Department will bid farewell to a long-time officer.  A reception will be held on Friday, November 30, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. in the third floor classroom at the MPD.

Officer Joe Sanders has worked for the City of Midland for 24-years.  He most recently worked with the Airport Division.

The Midland Police Department wishes him well.  Please help make this a special day for the officer and his family.

REPAIR ASSISTANCE FOR ELDERLY/HANDICAPPED
The City of Midland is spreading the word about two programs that can help elderly or handicapped homeowners.

The Minor Emergency Repair Program assists low income elderly or handicap residents with replacement of water heaters, gas lines, or sewer lines.  Residents must be located in CDBG eligible areas to qualify.  There is a $50.00 service fee.

The Reconstruction Loan Program helps elderly or handicapped residents tear down and rebuild their home on the same site.  Qualified applicants must meet the loan repayment criteria and live in a CDBG area.  Funds are limited to four homeowners.

For more information about these programs and how to apply, contact the City of Midland Community Development Office at 685.7472.
