TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURE
The City of Midland Transportation Division is scheduled to fog seal the newly chip sealed Oriole Drive on Tuesday, December 18, 2007.  Beginning mid- morning tomorrow, portions of the street will be closed to through traffic as the fog seal progresses.  The project is estimated to last one or two days, weather permitting.  Other streets within the chip seal area may be fog sealed at a later date as needed.

Fog seal is a method of adding asphalt to an existing pavement surface to improve sealing or waterproofing, prevent further stone loss by holding aggregate in place, or simply improve the surface appearance. Fog seal is a mixture of emulsion and water applied by spraying the surface of the pavement.

Motorists are urged to reduce speed, observe barricades, and use caution while workers are present.
