CITY HOLIDAY
The City of Midland will observe the Christmas holiday on Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25, 2007.

In observance of this holiday, City of Midland offices will be closed.

Emergency personnel will work normal shifts to provide services to the community.

Offices will reopen on Wednesday, December 26, 2007.

Residents should note - following Christmas, trash pick up will resume on Wednesday, December 26, 2007.

CHRISTMAS TREE DISPOSAL LOCATIONS
The City of Midland currently has two drop off areas designated for Christmas tree disposal and mulching.

Residents are encouraged to take their trees to the following areas:

  1. Hogan Park softball field #7, 1201 E. Wadley.  Enter off Lamesa Road by the National Guard Armory.
  2. Claydesta Post Office area, north of the intersection of Veterans Airpark Lane and Smith Road.

Parks and sanitation crews will pick up the trees from the location and haul them to the city landfill for mulching.  The mulching saves landfill space and can be used later as fertilizer.

***The City discourages people from dumping trees at other city parks.***
