WARNING TO RESIDENTS
The City of Midland is receiving numerous phone calls from alarmed residents.  All the residents reported that they received a phone call from someone wanting to come inside their homes and test the mineral content of their tap water.  It should be noted – the City of Midland does not test water at residences.  If a citizen makes this request, the water is tested at an outside tap.

Those residents with caller ID have reported a local water filer vendor as placing the call.  This is in an attempt to sell a product to local residents.  At no time do they identify themselves as a private company or give their company name.  In some instances, the caller has offered pizza and movie passes to those who allow them inside their residence to check the water.

The City of Midland assures residents that their city tap water is safe.  In fact, the content of the water is tightly monitored on a regular basis by the State.  This monitoring takes place at the water plant.  The City must always meet these regulations.  If for any reason the City does not meet a regulation, the City is required to inform the residents and make the information available to the public.
