TEXAS ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH MEETING
The City of Midland will host the Panhandle-West Texas Chapter of the Texas Environmental Health Association Meeting on Thursday, May 29, 2008, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  The meeting will run until 2:00 p.m. at the Beal Ranch House located at 5200 W. Wall Street inside Beal Park.

Health professionals from across the region will discuss such issues as Climate Change, Revitilization and Code Enforcement, State Rules and Regulations Governing Food Service, and Controlling Insect Infestations.

The media is invited to stop by the sessions.


AMERICAN EAGLE ADDS FLIGHT
The City of Midland’s Department of Airports is pleased to announce that American Eagle is adding a new flight to the schedule at Midland International Airport. 

Flight #3698 will depart MAF at 8:30 a.m. arriving at DFW at 9:40 a.m.  Flight #3697 will depart DFW at 6:55 a.m. arriving at MAF at 8:00 a.m. 

With the addition of this flight, American Eagle will now have seven arrivals and departures to Dallas-Ft. Worth. 

The new service will start June 2, 2008.


LAW ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY GRADUATION
The 80th Session of the Permian Basin Law Enforcement Academy will graduate a class of six on Friday, May 30, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Midland County Horseshoe, 2514 Arena Trail.

The Midland Police Department will soon have three of the officers on the force.  The following persons will graduate for the following agencies:

Jason Claire (Midland PD)
Travis Skinner (Midland PD)
Brian Stacey (Midland PD)
George Quentero (Howard County Sheriff)
Daniel Reynoso (Big Spring PD)
Clint Walker (Big Spring PD)

The academy runs 18 weeks.  The academy began on January 28, 2008.

The academy consists of Law, Procedure, Officer Safety, Physical Fitness, Defensive Tactics, Firearms, Police Driving, and other academic classes. From there the recruits will enter into the Field Training Program which can last another 17 weeks.
