FATALITY ACCIDENT UPDATE
Midland Police are releasing the name of a woman who died in a two vehicle accident yesterday on Loop 250 just south of Wadley.
53-year-old Patricia Hochman of Midland was driving her black Lexus northbound on the Loop yesterday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. when she was struck in the driver’s side door by a red Explorer. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Explorer, 17-year-old Kaily Rosales remains at Midland Memorial Hospital for injuries she received in the accident. Her injuries are not life threatening. The 16-year-old passenger of the Explorer was treated and released.
According to witnesses, the Explorer was traveling southbound on the loop when Rosales changed lanes, lost control, hit a dip in the median, and went air borne.
Police are investigating if Rosales was intoxicated at the time of the accident. No charges have been filed at this time. If found to be intoxicated, she could be charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.
The investigation continues.
FATALITY ACCIDENT ARREST
Midland Police have charged a teenager in a fatal accident that occurred yesterday, June 23, 2008, on Loop 250 just south of Wadley.
A warrant was issued for 17-year-old Kaily Rosales earlier today. The warrant was served at Midland Memorial Hospital where she is still undergoing medical attention for injuries received in the accident. Rosales is charged with Intoxication Manslaughter. The level of intoxication is undetermined pending the investigation and blood results.
