PARKS & RECREATION HOSTS MAINTENANCE RODEO
The City of Midland Parks & Recreation Divisions will host an unusual competition that promises to deliver a few “Kodak Moments.” It is the fourth annual Maintenance Rodeo. The event will take place on Friday, August 29, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, 2300 Butternut.
Competitions will include Nail Driving, Leaf Blowing, Lawn Mowing, Truck and Trailer Operations, and Backhoe Operations.
The goal is to develop two teams that will advance to the Annual Texas Recreation and Park Society Tri-Region Competition to be held in Amarillo on October 9th. Winners from the Tri-Region Competition will advance to the 2nd Annual State Competition during the Texas Recreation and Park Society Annual Institute in February 2009 in Austin.
This will be the fourth consecutive year that the City of Midland sends a team to compete.
