AGGRAVATED ROBBERY
Midland Police responded to an Aggravated Robbery at 1:40 p.m. today, September 11, 2008, at the 7-11 Store located at 5408 Thomason Drive.
According to witnesses, a Hispanic male entered the store once while a customer was inside. He left and returned when only the clerk was at the store. At that time, he displayed a gun, went behind the counter, and took an undetermined amount of cash from the register.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, between 20-30 years of age. He is 5’2” – 5’4” tall and was wearing a dark jacket with a grey hoodie at the time of the incident. The suspect is described as having a strong Spanish accent. The gun used is believed to be a silver pistol.
The suspect is believed to be the same person who committed the Aggravated Robbery on September 9th at the 7-11 located at 3301 W. Illinois.

BATTLE OF THE BADGES BLOOD DRIVE
It is official, the Midland Police Department is victorious in the first ever Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.
The Police Department gathered 43 units of blood while the Fire Department rounded up 16 units. As a result, the staff at the Midland Fire Department will be hosting a cookout for the Police Department.
All the donations benefit United Blood Services.
MURDER
Midland Police were called to the scene of a homicide this morning, September 11, 2008, at 1:28 a.m. at 1408 S. Fort Worth.
According to witnesses, the suspect, 28-year-old Corina Sifuentes (10-12-79), arrived at the residence armed with a revolver. She demanded to see the victim, 45-year-old Sylvia Zapata. Sifuentes located Zapata in a rear building of the residence. A confrontation took place and Sifuentes shot Zapata in the upper chest. Sifuentes fled the scene.
Police are currently searching for Sifuentes and have a warrant for her arrest. She is believed to be driving a 2003 brown Ford F-150 extended cab truck, license plate 9FS-D61.
Sifuentes is described as a Hispanic female, 5’3”, 130 pounds, long black hair, and brown eyes.
The Murder is believed to be the result of an ongoing dispute between Zapata and Sifuentes.
